Thames Travel Gears Up with Special Bus Services for Yellows’ Upcoming Home Match

Thames Travel is poised to introduce its Football Specials bus services for the new season, coinciding with the Yellows’ showdown against Carlisle at home on Saturday, 12th August. These special bus services have become a staple for fans travelling to the Kassam Stadium from all over Oxfordshire.

Having recently renewed their partnership with Oxford United for the upcoming season, Thames Travel has also announced that match day service fares will be incorporated into the Government’s bus fare cap scheme. This means that until 31st October 2023, adults can avail of a single bus fare for just £2.

Yellows fans can expect the OX2, OX3, and OX7 services during all home league fixtures. Extra services are also in the pipeline for certain cup games.

• The OX2 starts its journey in Didcot, making stops at Great Western Park, Steventon, Drayton, and concluding in Abingdon.
• Meanwhile, the OX3 and OX7 routes will cater to supporters coming from locations such as Witney, Carterton, Brize Norton, Curbridge, Eynsham, Botley, Kidlington, Summertown, Marston, Cowley, and Headington.

The Oxford Bus Company will also be running its 3A city centre service to the Kassam Stadium. This service operates every half-hour and covers places like Iffley Road, Rose Hill, Oxford Science Park, and more. Plus, with the Government fare cap in effect, passengers using the 3A city service can enjoy more economical travel options.

Supporters will be able to benefit from cheaper fares this season via the Government’s national fare cap scheme, which makes the Football Specials even better value for money.
